Multi-Location Radius
The Multi-Location Radius feature is an advanced search tool that you can use to search for leads around several geographic points.
You define multiple starting points (also called "centroids") and the radius in whole miles or the quantity of records you would like to retrieve from each centroid. Only records located within the radiuses you specify are included in the search results.
At the beginning of your search, you have the option to either:
• Find the total number of records available within a location's radius and perform cutbacks during the order process.
• Specify the exact quantity of records you would like to receive for each location. You will receive the x-amount of records closest to the location's centroid.
You can use ZIP, CRRT, ZIP+4, and latitude/longitude coordinates as centroids. Either use the same centroid type for all locations, or combine them.
The Radius and Multi-Location Radius cannot be combined with other geographical selections in a search. Other geographical selections become unavailable after radius selections are used in the search.
Besides entering the Multi-Location Radius data manually through the interface, you can upload a predefined list of locations on condition that they are in the right format. For more information, see MLR Selections Requirements.
1 On the Geography tab, click Multi-Location Radius.
2 On the Multiple Location Radius Selection page, choose the method of search by selecting one of the following options:
• Multiple Location Radius by Distance. Use this option to find the total number of records within the radial boundaries. For example, you can search for prospects within a 10 mile distance from a centroid.
• Multiple Location Radius by Quantity. Use this option to get a specific number of records in the vicinity of a centroid. For example, you can search for the 1,000 records closest to a centroid.
3 Select the centroid type for your radial locations:
• If you want to use the same centroid type for all locations, select it in the corresponding list.
• If you want to use different centroid types for your locations, clear the Use the same centroid type for all locations check box and select the centroid type for each location in the Centroid column.
If the Mapping Lookup feature is turned on for the system, Point on a Map option is displayed instead of Lat/Lon. For more information, see Mapping Lookup.
4 For each location, in the Centroid column, select the centroid type from the list and enter actual centroid data in the corresponding field. If you do not know ZIP+4, CRRT, or Latitude/Longitude, you can look them up by address.
If you want to have the same centroid type for all your locations, select Use the same centroid type for all locations check box and select a centroid type in the list.
If you need to accommodate more than 10 radial locations, click Add Page. The maximum number of radial locations depends on the system.
5 Depending on the search method, you enter:
• Radius. In the Radius column, specify the radial distance in whole miles for each location. The maximum distance is 200 miles.
If you want to set the same radial distance for all locations, select Auto-fill radius values check box and enter the required number of miles in the text box provided.
• Number of Closest Records. In the # of records column, enter the number of records you would like from each location.
(Optional) To limit the search for prospects to a certain radius in an MLR by Quantity search, enter a radial distance that will apply to all your locations in the Don't look for prospects outside of __ mile radius text box.
If you want to set the same number of records for all locations, select the Auto-fill number of closest records check box and enter the required number of records in the text box provided.
6 In the Key Code column, specify the location keycode that will be used as an identifier for each radial location. Keycodes must be unique.
If a location keycode is not specified, centroid data will be used as a key code, e.g. keycode "33904C013" is assigned to the location with this CRRT as a centroid.
7 (Optional) Select Do not cross state lines check box if you want to get records only from the state where the centroid is located.
If Lat/Lon is used as a centroid, the Do not cross state lines option is unavailable.
8 (Optional) For some lists, it is possible to specify the granularity level for the Multi-Location Radius selection. The granularity level is set to "Auto" by default, which means that the system selects the optimal granularity based on the centroid type you selected. In case you have some specific requirements towards the granularity level, you can change it manually in the Granularity level list. For more information on granularity levels, see Granularity.
You cannot manually adjust granularity levels when using MLR by Quantity.
You can look up ZIP+4, CRRT, and Latitude/Longitude by address.
1 On the Multiple Location Radius Selection page, click Get next to the centroid you are going to look up.
2 Enter the exact address for your centroid. You can enter one of the following combinations:
• Street address, city, and state
• Street address and ZIP code
3 Click Add Location.
1 On the Multiple Location Radius Selection page, select Point on a Map as a centroid.
2 Click Open a Map. The Mapping Look Up page opens.

3 Enter the address that you want to use as a starting point in the corresponding text box.
You can enter either the exact address, or just a street, city, state, or ZIP code, and then manually adjust the starting point on the map.
4 Depending on the search method, do the following:
• Multiple Location Radius by Distance. Specify the radial distance in miles. Click Search. Your location with the marked center and boundaries of the selected radius is displayed on the map. To change the coordinates of the starting point or the radial distance, drag the blue markers on the map.
• Multiple Location Radius by Quantity. Click Search. Your location with the marked center is displayed on the map. To change the coordinates of the starting point, drag the blue marker on the map.
The original starting point is still highlighted by a flag.
To view the latitude and longitude of the starting point, click the center marker.
5 Click Save and continue with your search.
1 In the Del column, select the check box corresponding to the radial location you want to delete.
2 Click Delete.
